Who we are

We are a London, UK based charity. We get in touch directly with Bangladeshi organisations or people that provide for victims of disaster by flood, cyclone and people effected by war, providing them with funds, so they can purchase dry food, clothing, temporary accommodation or any basic amenities.

We are registered with the Charities commission of England and Welsh.

What we do

  • We make grants to individuals.
  • We Make grants to organisations.

If an organisation or an individual promotes helping the poor, the sick, homeless or those in financial need as a result of war or natural disaster and can prove this, we will aid them.

Goals

The Charity's objects are for the benefit of the disadvantaged, victims of disaster by flood, cyclone and people effected by war anywhere in the world particularly people of Bangladesh who are in hardship by:

  1. Relieving poverty, sickness and distress as a result of floods, cyclones and natural calamities by providing monetary support and where necessary by providing physical support.
  2. Improving the quality of life of those victims of disaster by providing monetary support and where necessary by providing physical support.

We help anyone who is a victim of war and natural disasters. We help the homeless, the poor, the ill and anyone in need by:

  • Providing housing for the homeless in Bangladesh and the world.
  • Providing medical care and facilities to the sick and ill in Bangladesh and the world.
  • Providing financial help to people in need and suffering from poverty.
  • Providing financial help to organisations in Bangladesh that strictly aim to aid the poor, sick, or homeless.

Md Foysal Ahmed Akanda

I am Foysal Ahmed Akanda, the founding chair of Bismillah UK Charity. We are a London-based organization that directly connects with Bangladeshi groups and individuals providing aid to victims of disasters such as floods, cyclones, and conflicts. Our aim is to provide funds to these organizations, allowing them to purchase essential items such as dry food, clothing, and temporary shelter for those in need. Bismillah UK is a registered charity with the Charity Commission of England and Wales, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by crises in Bangladesh.

Late Syed Azizul Islam MBE.

Syed Azizul Islam MBE, former Housing Manager of Tower Hamlets Council and Finance Officer of the Commonwealth, a prominent community leader, has passed away. He died on December 15, Thursday 2022 at St. George's Hospital in London. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'un. He was almost 80 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. He lived in Streatham Hill, London. His ancestral home was in Balikandi, Sadar Upazila, Maulvibazar, Bangladesh. He was the paternal uncle of renowned writer and teacher Syed Shamsul Alam. Syed Azizul Islam MBE was associated with various organizations, including Bismillah UK Charity as the principal advisor. As a social worker and civil servant, he worked extensively to develop the Bangladeshi community in the UK. Upon his death, M Abu Taher Chowdhury, the President of the Bangladesh Press Club UK, community leader and politician Mahidur Rahman, former chairman of the Sinkapone Brothers and Sons Trust Alhajj A E S Muhaimin, Faysal Ahmed Akhand, the founder and chairman of Bismillah UK Charity, Haji M A Salim, Syed Atiqul Hoque, Samchul Islam, Kazi Aktar Uddin, and social worker Dilwar Ahmed expressed their deepest condolences.

Membership

Membership fee is £60 per annum. This means the fee can be £5 per month for 12 months. Which is definitely what most people can afford.

However, those that benefit from the charity's works, such as the people in poverty in Bangladesh do not need to pay the organisation anything.

Funding

We raise funds through members, volunteer donation collectors and through social media.
